Committed to making Great Wakering a better place for all of us

Frequently asked questions

What makes you different to the existing Parish Councillors?

There are actually some very good parish councillors serving our community at the moment but they seem to be constrained by party politics, party voting and legal nonsense. If something needs saying, I'll say it. And if it needs doing, I'll get it done.

As a Parish Councillor, will you get paid?

No. Parish Councillors are not paid. They are entitled to a small allowance of around £74 per month. This is supposed to be used for out of pocket expenses and for attending meetings.

My entire allowance will be passed on to local funds and charities as I see fit.

Do you belong to a political party?

No I do not. My views and actions are my own. The Parish Council is currently run by UKIP (a majority of 7 to 5). They have recently tried to distance themselves from their party name, but they are, to all intents and purposes, still a united group.
