In Wakering and Barling there is still a very strong sense of community spirit. When calls go out for volunteers they turn up in their droves. I would like to tap in on this.
We should be involving the community in far more schemes, and the Parish Council are in an ideal position to facilitate this.
We need more involvement in litter picking and tidying up the village; more help for the elderly; more events - not just for information, but for fun. I'd like to see the village fair back! In fact I'd like to see a lot more village events, and the proceeds could be invested back into local groups and charities.
